Two attempts in Plein Air Painting
I do know a few artists who do this but I have never done it myself until now. Ken Howard I know does this very often where he will start painting outdoors en plein air and because the light changes so fast and tiredness and fatigue set in brings it back the next day to finish it off. Of course, the weather conditions have to be the same or similar. I went off to Pendeen and thought I had finished but when I got home I realized it really was not. So, I took it back the next day with great results. I think I will continue with this method. Of course, it also means you get a lot more in the work.
