The Newly Fish Festival happens every year although there is now the introduction of a Fallow year. This is a great festival with all kinds of attractions. Fish sellers of course of every kind as well as stalls and music and wine women and song and in this PC world men too! This painting is a depiction of the festival which is held down on the Quayside so there is a real sense that you are in a working Harbour. This image includes folk with torches and lights.
